New Capacity for Home Buildings & Contents, Landlords, and SME Business Package Products

Blue Zebra Insurance (BZI) is pleased to announce new capacity across our Home Buildings & Contents, Landlords, and SME Business Package product lines. These products will be underwritten by a high-quality co-insurance panel comprising Chubb as the lead insurer, AIG, and HDI Global Specialty SE acting through its Australian branch HDI Global Specialty SE-Australia (HDI).

The announcement of new capacity for Home Buildings & Contents, Landlords and SME Business Insurance policies follows the 5 June announcement that QBE would underwrite BZI private and commercial motor policies from 1 July 2025.

BZI is committed to building a stable, sustainable portfolio and strengthening broker partnerships through these new underwriting partnerships.

Key Updates:

  • From 26 June 2025, BZI will offer replacement and new business policies incepting from 1 July 2025 for Home Buildings Contents, Landlords and SME Business Package Policies.
  • These products are underwritten by the co-insured panel of Chubb, AIG and HDI.
  • Material changes have been made to the policy wordings for Home Buildings & Contents and Landlords product lines. Product Disclosure Statements, TMD & Change Notices are available on the BZI website.
  • The policy wording for SME Business Package will not be adjusted at this time, other than to reflect the change in security partner and some compliance and minor clarifications.
  • An important change is the removal of the instalment premium payment option. Existing instalment premium policies will be offered a replacement policy with the annual premium payment option as they expire.
  • BZI commenced issuing replacement policies and new business on 6 June 2025 for commercial and private motor policies underwritten by QBE.
  • BZI continues to offer Cyber insurance policies with no change to security arrangements or policy wording.

Key Document Update

Operationally, brokers will see very little day to day difference when transacting with Blue Zebra. Documentation in the system and the underlying new PDS will automatically be delivered as per our usual process. Brokers will have the same contact details for claims lodgement.

BZI is confident the support of its new co-insurance panel will deliver long-term value to broker networks and policyholders.
