New underwriting partner for Blue Zebra Private and Commercial Motor products
Blue Zebra is extremely pleased to announce QBE Insurance (Australia) Ltd (“QBE”) as our new underwriting partner for our current Private and Commercial Motor products, effective from 1 July 2025.
This marks the first step in the transition of underwriting arrangements across our product range, with further updates regarding Home, Landlords, and SME expected to be announced shortly.
For clarity, we will continue to distribute existing products under the current underwriting arrangements until the 30th of June 2025. These policies will then move into run-off. There will be no change in the current claims approach for the run-off portfolio
From 1 July 2025, any new quotes for Private and Commercial Motor products will be underwritten by QBE. Documentation in the system and the underlying new PDS will automatically be delivered as per our usual process. For new claims on QBE underwritten policies, brokers will have the same contact details for claims lodgement.
Operationally, brokers will see very little day to day difference when transacting with Blue Zebra.
When renewing Private and Commercial Motor products, you will be issued with ‘Renewal/Replacement (as applicable)’ policies to reflect the change in our security partner.
For New Business effective from 1 July 2025, we expect to be operational from 6 June 2025.
For Renewal/Replacement policies effective from 1 July 2025, we expect to start releasing from the 6 June 2025.
One important change to note will be the removal of the instalment premium payment option, with annual premium now the only payment option available. Existing instalment premium policies will be offered a replacement policy with the annual premium payment option as they expire.
